Cycle Llangollen to Wenffrwd Pocket Park

Part of the new parkrun launching soon!

Llangollen Old Railway Line

We started the route from Llangollen Health, parking is free there at a weekend when the doctors surgery is closed. There’s a pay and display slightly further up by the Ponsonby Arms if you’re going mid week.

Although it’s a short loop it’s quite peaceful and  can be extended by going along the canal to Trevor or Chirk, or doing a loop up to the Panorama. The old railwayline at the beginning will be park of the new 5k parkrun route when it starts up.

We finished with a coffee at the Wharf after filming, and then went across the town to cycle the valley loop afterwards.

Bike Choice

The best bike would be gravel or mountain, the terrain in the pocket park is quite loose. A road bike would be fine for the old railway line and the canal, but I wouldn’t recommend a roadie for the Wenffrwd loop.
